Abstract

664,464. Centrifugal machines. CHINA, F. J. E. Aug. 29, 1949, No. 22416/49. Class 23. A mixer of the kind intended to be immersed in a body of liquid, which may be used in the preparation of colloidal suspensions, comprises a hollow body of circular cross section closed at one end by means to which is connected a rotatable shaft and open at the other end, its peripheral wall having a plurality of relatively narrow axially extending slots and having one or more partition members within it. As shown, the mixer comprises a peripheral wall 1, Fig. 1, extending from a head 3 which engages a rotatable shaft by means of a socket 4. Slots 6 are formed in the wall 1 and are surrounded by a sleeve 7 having slots 8 whereby displacement of the sleeve about the peripheral wall 1 varies the effective width of the slots. Within the peripheral wall there is located a diametrical partition 9. Specification 624,107 is referred to.
