Abstract
172,888. Forgrove Machinery Co., Ltd., and Grover, F. Feb. 15, 1921. Rotary perforating machines.-Relates to machines in which a rotary perforating-cutter cooperates with a grooved roller having a greater peripheral velocity so as to give a draw-cut, and consists in the provision of an adjustable flat V- shaped or other cutter set out of the axial line of the roller. As shown in Fig. 1, the cutter 8 is positioned below the axial line of the cutter shaft and roller, is flat, V-shaped, and mounted by jointed arms 6, 7 upon a disc 5 carried by a shaft 4 to which the grooved roller 2 is geared. The shape of the cutter 8 can be arranged to give a triangular perforation as shown in Fig. 5, or a semicircular or other perforation.
