Abstract

602,055. Scaffolding clamps. LONDON & MIDLAND STEEL SCAFFOLDING CO., Ltd., and BURTON, J. Oct. 17, 1945, No. 27125. [Class 20(ii)] In a scaffolding clamp of the kind comprising a central member placed between two scaffolding members to be clamped together and two caps hinged to the central member which engage the scaffolding members, the central member 10 and the caps 15, 17 are provided with lugs 26 or jaws 27 which form eyes for receiving pivot pins 28 by which the caps are hinged. The opening of each cap is limited by a face 30 on one or both of the jaws 27, preferably extending the full length of the eye, coming into contact with a face 29 on the central member, neither of the contacting faces forming a projection. Thus the cap 15, when opened, can support the horizontal scaffolding member. Specification 507,411 is referred to.
