547,701. Scaffold clamps. MILLS, Ltd., Executors of J., and MACBETH, A. Dec. 4, 1940, No. 17286. [Class 20 (ii)] A scaffold clamp comprises a V-shaped band of metal encircling one scaffold member 7 and with recessed arms 10 to receive the cross scaffold member 12, the closed end of the band having clamping means, which, when in use, causes tilting of the clamp to clamp the scaffold members together while at the same time part of the closed end of the band is pressed against the vertical scaffold member. The end of the clamp is narrowed at 8 to form bearing shoulders 9 and the narrowed portion forms a housing for the nut 14 of the clamping screws 13. Specification 444,215 is referred to.
