Abstract

537,443. Scaffold clamps. SCAFFOLDING (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd. and JONES, D. H., Feb. 3, 1940. No. 2148. [Class 20 (ii)] A scaffolding clamp of the kind described in Specification 444,215, comprising a U-shaped clamping band 5 to embrace one scaffold member 3 and recesses in its side to receive a second scaffold member 4 disposed at an angle to the first, has the clamping screw 7 disposed in. a separable plate 6 between the horns of the band so that it does not project beyond the clamp. The direction of thrust of the screw is so arranged as to be inwards and downwards to press the scaffold members together and at the same time to press one member on to the bases 53 of the recesses. Specification 460,315 also is referred to.
