Abstract

579,099. Washers. SUMMERS, R. B. July 20, 1944, No. 13937. [Class 89 (i)] A washer is made in two U-shaped parts 1 each part having a projection 4 that is a friction fit in the throat of the U of the other part. The parts are assembled axially and after tightening of the nut lateral separation is prevented by projections 9 engaging grooves 10. The projections taper to fit the correspondinglyflared throats. The sides of the projections are concave at 7. Recesses 11 are provided for a prizing-tool.
