Abstract

1,176,131. Clamps. A. VINES. 24 Jan., 1967 [7 Feb., 1966], No. 5368/66. Heading E2B. A clamp comprises two pairs of clamping plates 14, 16 and 18, 20 for holding two rods 10 and 12 respectively, the plates being secured in overlapping relation by bolt 22 and nut 26, means being provided for positively angularly locating plate 14 with respect to plate 18 and for positively angularly locating one plate of each pair with its complimentary plate. The adjacent faces of plates 14 and 18. are each formed with a circular array of projections 30, the projections on one plate fitting between the projections of the other to give the required angle between the rods. Each projection 30 results in a depression 28 on the other side of the plate. Similarly, depressions 32 on plates 16 and 20 result in corresponding projections which engage in some of the depressions 28 in plates 14 and 18 respectively. Only one depression 32 may be formed on plates 16 and 20.
