The subject matter of this specification is similar to that of Specification 999,678, but differs in that the bush 6 is of non-circular cross-section and the bores in the end plates and the bush for the spindle 2 lie on a common axis coincident with the bush axis. In arrangements according to Figs. 4-7 (not shown), the cross-section of the bush and plate of the smaller end are triangular, square and of figure 8 configuration. the clamping jaw 3 being similarly shaped in each case to overlie the respective plate in the operative position of the jaw.
