Abstract

966,374. Door handles. E. HOLDEN & CO. (B'HAM) Ltd., and E. J. HOLDEN. April 27, 1963, No. 16633/63. Heading A4U. Door handles 10 are secured back to back on opposite sides of a door 12 by means of a spindle 11 threadedly engaged within the tapped ends 103 of the handles 10 and extending through the central non- circular, e.g. polygonal, holes in a rose washer 13 provided with oppositely disposed flats 131, engagable by a jawed tool, such as a spanner, whereby rotation of the rose washer 13 and hence the spindle 11 draws the handles together to be clamped on the door 12. Resilient washers 14 are located between the door 12 and the rose washers 13; and caps 15 having tongues 152 are a push fit over the rose washers 13.
