575,429. Vices. BEARD, C. L. Dec. 24, 1943, No. 21662. Convention date, June 11. [Class 61 (ii)] A cable splicing vice comprises two pairs of jaws 3, 3<1> and 4, 4<1> which are secured on either side of a plate 2 by pivot pins 6, 6<1>. The pairs of jaws have gripping surfaces 9, 12 which are respectively of suitable curvature for gripping the eye and thimble 13 of a cable. Cam levers are pivotally mounted on the plate 2 between the other ends of the jaws.
