[Classes 36 and 38 (i)] A coupling for connecting two electrical conductors comprises two substantially flat conducting plates clamped together face to face with complementary grooves forming a channel in which the conductors are inserted. Two electric conductors such as 15 lying side-by-side in a channel shaped cap-member 22 are supported in grooves in transverse walls 23. At each end, each length of conductor 15 is connected to a further length by a connector 10. This comprises two plates 11, 12 held together by bent-over lugs 14, and having grooves 13 along them to form a channel along which the conductors lie. The channel is made slightly smaller than the conductor to give a firm grip which may be assisted by crimping at one end. A central hole 10a may facilitate assembly. Tee connectors 16 positioned along each conductor 15 are each formed by two plates 17, 18 of metal, e.g. phosphor bronze held together by lugs 19, one plate 18 having formed integral with it a spring contact 20. The connectors are all located in compartments formed by suitable walls of the cap 22 and the base 26 which forms a fourth side to the channel. Appropriate holes are provided in the cap 22 opposite connectors 16 through which plug blades may pass to engage contacts 20. Specification 600,848 is referred to.
