Abstract

600,144. Lawn-mowers. INSHAW, G. R. Sept. 28, 1945, No. 25219. [Class 6(ii)] A lawn-mower incorporates a power unit 1 which is adapted to drive exclusively a rotary knife 3 operating in co-operation with a ledger blade the rotary knife being positioned at the front of the mower in advance of all guiding and running rollers or wheels. In the construction shown the power unit is an electric motor controlled by a switch 6 and having its cable 5 passing around a self-tensioning drum 4 and thence to a power point. A cable guard 8 is mounted in front of the cutter 3.
