Abstract

596,166. Doors for ovens. RADIATION, Ltd., and MULROY, V. R. July 23, 1945, No. 18841. [Class 126] [Also in Group XXV] An oven or like door is provided with a hinge construction designed to enable the door to be easily mounted in position or detached. The door d carries a pair of trunnions e and f adapted to engage a pair of sockets band c mounted on the oven, the arrangement of the sockets and trunnions being such as will permit sufficient vertical movement of the door to enable the trunnion f to be engaged with or disengaged from its socket c while the trunnion e is engaging its socket b, and at least the latter socket being formed with a truncated conical bore such as will allow the associated trunnion and door to be tilted relatively to this socket while the door is being placed in position or removed. The lower trunnion is provided with a collar h. Alternatively, the trunnions may be mounted on the oven and the sockets on the door.
