Abstract
595,980. Street and like lamps. JOHNSON & TURNER, Ltd., and TURNER, M. C. July 12, 1945, No. 17802. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] In a lantern such as described in Specification 293,210, [Class 75 (iv)], for street and flood lighting in which the light source 15 is surrounded by a number of plano-convex lenses 13 directing the light on to a corresponding number of independently adjustable mirrors 16 carried in frames 17, each frame 17 is hinged to a bracket 18 pivoted to the rear plate 11 of the cylindrical lantern casing by a bolt 19 and secured in position when adjusted by a flanged sleeve 22 passing through a slot 24 in the plate and carrying a securing nut 23. The sleeve 22 surrounds a rod 25 which may be turned by a knurled nut 28 to adjust the inclination of the corresponding mirror 16 by engagement with a screwed rod 33 carrying pins 32 engaging slots 31 in a two-armed bracket extending from the back of the frame 17. The casing 10 is preferably mounted on trunnions carried by a stirrup 39 pivotally mounted on a stud 40.
