Class 75(4) A vehicle headlamp comprises a fixed parabolic reflector 3, a luminous source 2 situated near to but below the focus of the reflector 3, a fixed screen 4 and a rotatable screen 5 arranged in front of the source 2, a plano-convex lens or prism 7 in front of the screens and means for varying the inclination of the screen 5 and of the lens 7 in relation to the optical axis. The front of the casing 1 enclosing the headlamp may be provided with an annular screen 8 limiting the light emitted to the central part of the beam. Tilting of the lens 7 varies the inclination of the beam, the upper limit of which may be varied by interposition of the screen 5. The lens 7 and screen 5 may be controlled independently or simultaneously.
