Abstract

846,418. Electric light projectors. HARLEY, M. C. Jan. 30, 1959 [Feb. 5, 1958], No. 3777/58. Class 75(4). In an electric light projector, more particular a motor vehicle headlamp, light from a concentrated source e at or adjacent the focus of a parabolic mirror f is projected vertically downwards, one part falling on a fixed conical reflector d which projects a substantially horizontal fan-shaped beam through a cylindrical window b and the remainder falling on a plain mirror g pivoted at h for limited adjustment and is reflected substantially horizontally through parallel louvres q movable in concert with the reflector h. The louvres may be supported by a bracket p rigid with the reflector g, adjustment of the inclination of which is effected by a nut j on a spindle k rotated by a knob n. The lighting system is enclosed in a cylindrical casing having a plane window c tangential thereto for the emission of light from the reflector g. Specification 633,367 is referred to.
