Abstract

595,972. Kaleidoscopes. CAUSSAT, L. L. July 11, 1945, No. 17769. Convention date, Nov. 30, 1940. [Class 97 (i)] A kaleidoscope comprises an outer opaque casing 1, the inner walls of which are fitted with glass plates constituting mirrors, transparent glass extensions 9 which are closed by a slidably interchangeable end plate (not shown), a hinged lid 13 carrying an eye-piece 14, and it contains transparent or other elements which produce designs by reflection in the mirrors. The extensions 9 may be coloured and several different coloured end plates which may be plain or may carry designs are provided. The elements inside the apparatus may be removed and other elements may be inserted by means of the hinged lid 13. In use, light is admitted laterally through one of the transparent portions 9 and the designs are viewed through the eyepiece 14.
