Abstract
217,262. Baker, T. Thorne-. Jan. 11, 1923. Lenses. - Photographic objectives consist of an achromatic lens composed of two or more components both of all of which are capable not onlv of transmitting the visible rays but also a great portion of the ultra violet rays. In one example, of which numerical data are given in the Specification, a boro-silicate crown component L<1> is combined with an ultra violet flint glass L<2>, and in a further example, the lens combination may be made of quartz and fluorite or quartz and Iceland spar. With this lens, when used with protographic plates treated so as to be sensitive in a pronounced degree to the ultraviolet rays, the speed is accelerated.
