Abstract

595,229. Doors. DOIG, J. June 30, 1945, No. 16694. [Class 20(iii)] ' A door 1 counterbalanced at 5 is pivotally mounted 2 for movement about a horizontal axis and has stanchions 6 clipped to the door when not in use and pivotally attached at at one end thereof, with the free ends engageable with sockets 8 in the ground when the door is in the horizontal position. A locking pin adapted to pass through a bracket in the door and engaged with a socket in the door case or vice versa may also be used to maintain the door in the horizontal position. The door may pivot on rollers 16 resting in depressions on a horizontal runway 17 extending into the building and rollers 18 at the top of the door also engage the runway when the door is in the horizontal position so that the door may then be slid into the building. Check .plates overlapping the top and side edges of the door act as a check to the door closing and as a weatherboard.
