Abstract

1307687 Windows BOUSSOIS SOUCHON NEUVESEL 30 Oct 1970 [19 Nov 1969] 51745/ 70 Heading E1J In an alternative movement window, a leaf, e.g. sashless, is displaceable horizontally in its plane between a closed position V, a position O in which pivoting about horizontal bottom axis X is possible, and a position B in which pivoting about vertical side axis Y is possible. The displacement is effected by a handle 5 on the leaf operating a bolt 6 which is releasably connected to the main frame 2. In an upper edge fitting 12 (Fig. 5) pivotable arms (125, 133) carry studs (71, 134) engagable in recesses (124, 136) and studs (72, 72) slidable in guides (123, 135). In lower corner fitting 15 (Fig. 12) rollers (53) are mounted in sleeve (23) on the leaf and run on rod (22) having a ring (31) pivoted on the frame. In closed position V pins (112a, Fig. 6) of hinges 16 are engaged in their sockets and pin (134, Fig. 12) is engaged in recess (136). On movement the leaf to position O rollers (53, Fig. 12) engage notches (330) to locate the leaf and pins (7', 134) are released from recesses (124, 136) but the studs (72 and 73) remain engaged in guides (123, 135) and the pin (112a) of hinge 16 has not left the socket (110). When the handle 5 is pulled towards the interior of the room, the leaf pivots about the lower axis X on the hinge pins (112a) in the sockets (110) and on the supporting rod (22) until stopped by arms (125, 133). Stop (37) then engages in a slot in the hinge ring (31) to prevent displacement of the leaf 4 along the axis XX. If the handle 5 is rotated to position F b the leaf is moved to position B in the frame, accurate positioning being ensured by rollers 53 falling into notches (33b, Fig. 12) and further movement towards the left by the handle is prohibited by flange (62) contacting stop (34) on the rod (22). In position B stud (73) is freed from guide (135) and pin (112a) has moved clear of its socket (110) so that the leaf 4 can be rotated about axis Y, Y on pin (26) of rod (22) in ring (31) and stud (71) in recess (124). Return of leaf 4 to position "O" is prevented by flange (59) of sleeve (23) striking shoulder (45) of lug (41) which is moved by spring (39). The rollers (53) may be replaced by spring pressed balls or notches may be provided on the underside of rod (22) to be engaged by spring pressed push rods on a block secured to the bottom edge of the leaf.
