Abstract
594,118. Gas-producers. KOLLER, K., and GALOCSY, Z. March 21, 1939, No. 8913. [Classes 55 (i) and 55 (ii)] In order to control the composition of water gas and producer gas, a mixture of gases obtained by combustionof coal dust, sawdust, peat, oil, tar, or gas, in a chamber separate from the producer, as described in Specification 351,892, is introduced into the producer above the gasifying zone, namely into a zone at a temperature below 1000‹C. and above 800‹C. Oxygen may be used instead of air, and steam may be supplied to the external combustion chamber; and iron ores, nickel chips, and nickel or cobalt salts may be added to the charge in the producer.
