Abstract

593,064. Lubricators. CLARK, R. G. E., and WAKEFIELD & CO., Ltd., C. C. June 8, 1945, No. 14490. [Class 12 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIX] Lubricating oil contained under air pressure in a reservoir 12 passes through a pipe 19 to water-filled sight feeds 24 having connections 27 to the points to be lubricated, each sight-feed 24 being provided with an inlet valve including a helical oil channel formed by a helical spring 37 of rectangular-sectioned wire fitting snugly in a cylindrical orifice in a housing 25 and closely surrounding upper and lower plugs 38, 40 formed on their upper and lower surfaces respectively with slots 39, 41. By rotating a threaded rod 43 the size of the helical channel may be adjusted and the rate or pressure at which the oil is fed past a non-return valve 34 to the connections 27 regulated. Lubricant may also be 1ed from the pipe 19 through branches 20, 21, 22 to other points fitted with retarding or regulating devices 23. Specifications 525/07, [Class 12], and 423,429 are referred to.
