Abstract
464,696. Lubricator couplings. PENNANT MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and TRYHORN, W. Oct. 24, 1935, No. 29343. [Class 99 (i)] A lubricator coupling comprises a body member or casing 5, which is slotted or forked at its lower end 6, 7 for transverse engagement with a reduced part beneath the head 9 of a nipple 8 on the part to be lubricated, a pistonlike member 10 located with the casing and provided with an axial lubricant passage 11, and a rotatable plug 14 in engagement with a thread 13 at the upper end of the casing for pressing the piston 10 into contact with the nipple 8. The passage 11, which receives lubricant from a gun through a bored stem 20 which is mounted on the piston and extends through the casing, preferably terminates in a projecting sealing lip 12, and axial movement of the plug 1 may be limited by the engagement of a set screw 17 on the casing with a peripheral groove 18 therein.
