[Class 30] Garden shears, scissors, or like devices comprise crossed blades, 1, 2, the blade 1 having a straight slot B to receive a pivot pin 5 on the blade 2 to which a separate quadrant plate 6 is attached, e.g. by rivets 8, a bolt 7 on the blade 1 engaging an arcuate slot in the plate 6 whereby a draw-cut or self sharpening cutting action is provided.
