Abstract
412,596. Facing fabrics. FRASER, F. A., 22, Ampton Street, London, and PAYTON, P. J., Brooklands, London Road, Enfield, Middlesex. Sept. 28, 1932, No. 26970. [Class 42 (i).] A cutting implement for facing cloth comprises a cylindrical blade 1 provided with transverse slots 11 the sides of which form cutting edges 11<a>, a correspondingly slotted cylindrical guard 2 within which the blade is mounted, and means for producing simultaneously a relative longitudinal and partial rotary movement of the blade and guard so that an oblique shearing action between the cooperating arcuate cutting edges results. The relative movement may be produced by a hand or power operated shaft 7 provided with an eccentric pin 3 engaging in a hole in the blade 1. The slots in the blade and guard may be inclined relatively to each other, the slots in the guard may be formed on each side of a longitudinal unslotted part, and, according to the Provisional Specification, the transverse slots in the blade and in the guard may be replaced by a longitudinal slot.
