[Class 37] In order to make the speed of the rotor a dependent on the supply voltage, the current coil g is connected to a winding i round a limb j of the voltage magnet e instead of to the supply circuit, this winding acting as a transformer secondary winding in conjunction with the voltage coil f. The speed of the rotor is thus made dependent on the supply voltage and this being constant results in a constant rotor speed. The rotor operates a meter switch c in the supply circuit through tripping mechanism after a predetermined time independently of the rate of consumption during this time. The meter may be employed as a prepayment meter for billiard table lighting, for fires in hotels, or for other time services.
