Abstract
588,379. Endless-chain conveyers and elevators. REDLER CONVEYORS, Ltd., and ALLIN, C. W. Jan. 9, 1945, No. 761. [Class 78(i)] A conveyer of the en masse type is driven by a pawl which is reciprocated and which operatively engages with a flight on alternate strokes to move the conveyer unidirectionally. A box-like member 10, Fig. 1, is secured to the top of the conveyer trough 40 and contains a pair of parallel bars 18, 19, Fig. 3, ori which is slidably mounted a cross-head 20. The cross-head is reciprocated by an eccentric 25 and has a depending member 34 to which is pivoted a pawl 35. The lower part of the pawl is bifurcated to form limbs 44, 45 which straddle the links 41 of the conveyer and are curved at 46 to engage correspondingly-shaped parts of the conveyer. - Two cross-heads each with its own pawl, may be provided in order to obtain substantially continuous movement of the conveyer.
