[Class 44] A door knob comprises a shank portion 1 and a shank portion 2 adapted to be connected together, for instance bv screwing, the shank part having a screw threaded axial bore 6 by means of which it can be threaded on a corner threaded square spindle 7, a non- circular plate 12 having a square hole adapted to engage the spindle being located in a corresponding recess in the shank part 2, so that rotation of the knob on the spindle is prevented. Small recesses 16 in the plate 12 may be provided to facilitate its removal. The knob may be made of moulded plastic material.
