Abstract

587,665. Metal-vapour converters. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and GALLIZIA, E. April 11, 1941, No. 4843. [Class 39 (i)] In a metal vapour con. verter of the kind in which the anode 3 is enclosed in a tubular shield 4 along with a de-ionising grid 5, a de-ionising surface in the form of a rod or tube 8 is provided separate from the grid and extending coaxial with and for the major portion of the shield between the open end thereof and the grid. The rod or tube may have a corrugated surface, and may be of iron with a graphite tip 9 adjacent the grid.
