Abstract
586,721. Mixing fluids in flow. NATIONAL FOAM SYSTEM, Inc. March 7, 1944, No. 4225. Convention date, Sept. 8, 1943. [Class 86] [Also in Group XXI] In a foam-making apparatus, water from a conduit 10 is by-passed from the output side of a pump 11 by a conduit 12 to an injector device 13 which draws in foam stabilizer solution from a conduit 30, and passes through an injector tube 27 to the input side of the pump 11. The injector device comprises a restricted passage 26 by which the by-passed water passes to a cylindrical chamber 17 which houses a valve plug 31 rotatable by a handle 33 to provide, as shown in full line position, communication between the passage 26, conduit 30 and injector tube 27. When the valve plug 31 is in the dotted line position, the stabilizer solution is cut off ; an intermediate position provides for connection between the passage 26 and conduit 30 only, to flush the conduit 30.
