Abstract

586,240. Fusible cut-outs. MARSH, D. A., and STUART, E. A. Nov. 7, 1944, No. 21816. [Class 38 (i)] To enable a blown fuse-wire to be easily replaced without using tools, the body of a fuse-holder comprises two hinged parts 1, 2, the part 1 having a detachable bobbin 10a of fuse wire 11 on a U-shaped bracket 9 in a recess 8. The fuse-wire is stretched across the shaped contacts 12, 12a in the part 1 and is secured by the corresponding contacts 13, 13a connected by strips 14 to the conducting pins 15 on part 2. A spring clip holds the free ends of parts 1, 2 together. A neon lamp may be connected across terminals 12, 12a so as to show when the fuse has blown.
