Abstract

676,104. Fusible cut-outs. COOKE, C. R. May 31, 1950 [May 31, 1949], No. 14582/49. Class 38 (i). A fusible cut-out comprises an insulating block 10 having a passageway 17 extending between two opposite faces, terminals 11, 12 being rigidly secured to the block and to which are connected resilient conducting members 15, 16 adapted to lie over the ends of the passageway when a fuse wire 19 extending therethrough is secured between said members, rupturing of the fuse wire allowing at least one of the members to flex away from the block to indicate said rupture. Member 15 may contact an alarm bus-bar on rupture of the fuse and member 16 may carry a coloured bead or expose a mark on the body. Alternatively, a light source behind the body may be rendered visible when member 16 flexes away from the body. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 643,561.
