Abstract

576,870. Fusible cut-outs. CRAWFORD J. May 17, 1944, No. 9450. [Class 38 (i)] An electric fuse, link or like carrier has brackets b which support the conducting caps of a removable cartridge fuse &c. so that the caps can be engaged with conducting terminal clips f on a base g. The cartridge d<1> is clamped on to the lower links b<2>, which are concave or U-shaped, by means of a screw e in the carrier. In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), a spring plunger replaces the screw e. The caps of the cartridge may be of square section, Figs. 8, 9 (not shown), instead of circular, and in this case they are held in the brackets by small grub screws in the lower or end limbs of the brackets. In order to ensure good contact between the caps and the clips f, the width of the brackets is less than that of the caps.
