Abstract

585,198. Two-part couplings ; lamp-holders. THORPE, Ltd., F. W., and THORPE, F. W. Dec. 16, 1944, No. 25273. [Class 38 (i)] A bracket for a double-ended tubular lamp 6 having two pins at each end has a slot 4 for the pins 5 and a manually displaceable carrier 9, provided with contacts 16, adapted either to engage the pins in the slot or to release them for removal of the lamp. When the carrier 9 and contacts 16 are moved from the " off " position shown in Fig. 4, a tongue 18 centralises the pins 5 in readiness for their engagement with contacts 16, and also supports the lamp. A dead-centre spring 19 provides a snap movement of the carrier 9 into each of its positions.
