Abstract

468,371. Electric - battery lamps. WEBBER, J. Dec. 31, 1935, No. 36104. [Class 39 (ii)] An electric - battery lamp comprises in combination a hollow case 1 with a concavoconvex glass 3 secured to its front by means of a bezel 4, a metal reflector plate 7 held in position behind the glass 3 by a spring clip 10 and lugs 9 on the case, a lamp bulb 8 mounted on the reflector plate, and an insulating strip 15 secured at its ends to the plate and supporting a spring finger 14 which bears against the centre contact of the bulb, the battery 18 being carried by a spring cradle 19 which fits into the back of the case so that a battery contact 17 bears against a rearward extension of the finger 14, key-hole slots 23 or other means being provided on the back of the cradle to enable it to be attached to a wall or like support, and an operating switch 28 at the end of a length of flex 27 extending from the case and connected to the other contact of the battery and to the reflector. The spring cradle 19 forming the back plate is provided with resilient arms 24 to retain the battery in position, and a pair of arms 24<1> which are provided with buttons 25 arranged to snap into holes at the top and bottom of the case and removably hold the cradle and battery in position. One button 25 is made hollow for the passage of the flex 27.
