Abstract

584,223. Clinometers. AUSTEN, W. E. Dec. 16, 1944, No. 25311. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1943. [Classes 97 (ii) and 97 (iii)] A clinometer comprises a stock 2 provided with a bubble tube 6 and legs 3, 4, an angularlyadjustable protractor 22 with clamping means 29, 20, 14, in a pivotally-attached protractor head 10, and a pendulum 38, pivoted by ball bearings on the spindle 15, carrying a pointer or vernier 37 moving over the protractor scale 24. A spring-mounted bar 41 is adapted to be pressed against the pendulum 38 for damping purposes. To adapt the clinometer to meaaure the amount of opening of doors &c., the pendulum 38 is replaced by a rod having a rubber suction securing device.
