Abstract

582,391. Handle fixings. SIPPEL, Ltd., B. & J., and SIPPEL, B. Oct. 5, 1944, No. 19141. [Class 61 (i)] A knife &c., has the blade 10, bolster 12 and tang 14 formed separately; the bolster is bored to receive the end of the tang which is slotted to receive an extension 11 of the blade and in the construction of Fig. 1 is counterbored to receive a sleeve 13 with a slightly eccentric aperture, the parts becoming firmly locked when the sleeve and tang are forced into position with the base of the blade 10 located in a transverse slot in the bolster. The tang 14 is screw-threaded &c., to take the handle 15. In the construction of Fig. 6 a longer extension 11 of the blade 10 is passed through the bolster and the slotted tang 14 forced thereover into the bore of the bolster.
