582,130. Valve circuits for wireless reception. SCOLES, G. J., MILLER, C. W., and METROPOLITAN - VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Sept. 8, 1941, No. 10142. [Class 40 (v)] In a frequency changer in which the tuned circuit of the local oscillator is associated with a reactor valve for varying its tuning, an amplifier valve, preferably having a flatly tuned anode circuit is interposed between the local oscillator and the input to the frequencychanging stage. The Figure shows oscillator and reactor valves 9, 1 associated with a tuned circuit 8 and an amplifier 11 which may be of the variable mu type and feeding via terminal 13 the grid of the mixer valve. The arrangement may constitute the reactor device in a " panoramic " radio receiver as described in Specification 582,125.
