Abstract

581,727. Cavity resonators for electron discharge devices. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. (International Standard Electric Corporation). Nov. 24, 1941, No. 15103. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] A resonant cavity is tuned by means of a bent wire extending inside it and adjustabte in position so as to modify the electric field distribution. The member may be a loop 13, Fig. 3. In the application of the invention to a Klystron, oscillator, the upper cavity is tuned by a member 27, Fig. 5, which can be projected more or less into the cavity and can be rotated. The lower cavity a a straight member 29 which may be adjustable. Both cavities may be tuned by bent wires. Specifications 513,970 and 530,785 are referred to.
