Abstract

676,133. Electric resonators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and SCOTT, W. J. Feb. 9, 1951 [Feb. 9, 1950], No. 3358/50. Class 40 (viii). An electrically resonant window 1, e.g. of glass, is provided with an adjustable tuning member 3 so located in the electro - dynamic field of the window as to be capable of changing its resonant frequency. The tuning member of Fig. 2 is of metal tipped with glass 7 and is formed with a kink 5 to allow a small amount of adjustability. In Fig. 3 the window 1 forms part of the wall of e.g. a transmitreceive or transmitter-blocker cell and the tuning member, which is in the form of a glass rod 8 having a metal insert 9, is adjusted from the outside by means of a screw 13 and nuts 15. In order to provide a flexible support for the rod 8, the wall is reduced in thickness as shown at 11. Specifications 582,328, 587,812 and 654,668 are referred to.
