Abstract

699,355. Electric resonators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 6,1951 [Dec. 11, 1950], No. 30240/50. Class 40 (viii). In a wave-guide or electric resonator a sealed window is formed across an aperture 2 in a partition formed by a frame 1 of flexible metal, the rim of which is reinforced by a metal surround 3, and the glass or ceramic material forming the window is sealed to the surround and/or the frame. The outer edge of frame 1 lying beyond the surround 3 may be corrugated or dished. In one example the glass for the window extends over one side of the frame while the surround is secured to the other face. Alternatively the glass may extend over one face of the surround, the other face of which is secured to the frame, and a further surround may be secured to the other face of the frame. The glass and the frame may also be secured to the inner and outer portions of the same face of the surround.
