Abstract
580,296. Clips. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. June 27, 1944, No. 12223. Convention date, June 23, 1943. [Class 44] A resilient clip for mounting a part, such as a cable clamp, on a plate like support such as the flange of a girder, com prises a portior adapted to sup port the clamp or other part, a portion resiliently connected to the first portion and adapted to engage frictionally one face of the support, and means integral with the partsupporting portion for fractionally engaging the opposite face of the support. The clip comprises portions 16, 17, Fig. 3, connected by a bight 18, and converging towards the free ends. The end of the portion 16 is bent inwardly to form a tongue 19 extending parallel to the portion 17. The outer end of the portion 17 is preferably outwardly flared at 21 to facilitate engagement of the clip, and the tongue 19 may have teeth or serrations 23 to grip the head 4, Fig. 6, of the support 2. The portion 16 is provided with means for engaging the cable clamp 5 comprising a tongue 25 formed by slitting and bending the slit part. Parts of the member 16 are pressed up to form rounded ears 30 to retain the clamp 5 in engagement with the tongue 25. The base 10 Fig. 5, of the clamp 5 is formed with inwardly turned lugs 11 which embrace the tongue 25.
