Abstract

669,689. Cable clips. INSTRELL, A. S. Dec. 1, 1950 [Dec. 12, 1949], No. 31828/49. Class 36. A clip for securing electric cables to a support comprises a base and an arm or arms to embrace the cable, a nail or other shank fastener being non- removably secured through a hole in the base by means of a head at one end of the shank and a flange that is integral with the shank but spaced from the head so that the head and the flange engage opposite faces of the base. The clip may be of the buckle type, comprising a base 1 and arms 2, 3. A headless nail having an integral flange on its shank 6 is passed through the hole in the base 1 so that the flange rests against the back of the clip. A head 8 is then formed on the nail to secure it in the hole. Alternatively a headed nail may be inserted in the hole and an integral flange subsequently formed on the shank. Strengthening flanges 10 may be provided on the base.
