Abstract

811,973. Band clips. SOC. PARISIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRO-MECANIQUES S. O. P. A. C. E. M. May 16, 1957 # Sept. 22, 1956; April 13, 1957], No. 15621/57. Addition to 798,042. Class 44. A ring clip or clamp has a relatively rigid base presenting from one side of its upper face a long flexible band in one piece with the base and furnished with ratchet teeth upon one surface, and towards the other side a vertical slot opened upwardly, one side of the slot presenting a single ratchet tooth capable of engaging with one of the ratchet teeth of the flexible band when the latter has been bent round an object to be clipped or clamped and has its free end inserted through the slot. In the construction shown in Fig. 1 the ratchet teeth 2 are on the underside of the band and the single ratchet tooth 10 is provided at the bottom of a vertical face 9 of the slot 7. The other face of the slot has a vertical face 11 parallel to the face 9 and this is prolonged by an inclined face 8. The face 9 ends in an inclined flange 12 which bends the band 1 into engagement with the tooth 10. The base has a prolongation 13 which has a notch 14 in its upper surface and by inserting a tool into the notch 14 and moving it in the direction of the arrow F the base is distorted so that the tooth 10 disengages the tooth 2 with which it is engaged so that the band can be pulled out of the recess. The base has a hole 5 for receiving a screw or the like for fixing it to the wall. Alternatively the fixing means can be embedded in the base or the base can be formed with an integral screw. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3, the teeth 2a are formed on the upper side of the band and the single tooth 16 is on the wall of the slot 7a nearest to the band.
