Abstract

579,573. Preventing and removing incrustation &c. LEWIS, G. E. H., and HOUSEMAN & THOMPSON, Ltd. March 28, 1944, No. 5708. [Class 123 (i)] In apparatus for feeding a solution of a boiler feedwater treatment material to the boiler or the like, comprising a solution tank 1 connected at 7 to the inlet side of a feed pump 2 communicating with the boiler or the like, the tank 1 is fed by a byepass pipe 8 from the pressure side of the pump, and the outlet of the pipe 8 is controlled by a valve 11 which operates in accordance with the level of the. liquid in the tank. The outlet of the pipe 8 is a perforated pipe 12. An air vessel 13 is provided to damp out pump pulsations. When the tank 1 is to be filled initially, the valve 16 in the quick-filling pipe 14 is opened. The flow of solution to the pump through the pipe 3 is controlled by a needle valve 4.
