Abstract
778,571. Feedwater supply systems for steam boilers. BACKHAUS, H. March 12, 1956 [March 12, 1955], No. 7654/56. Class 123(2) In a boiler feedwater de-aerating system in which water from a storage tank 1 is supplied by a continuously-acting pump 2 to a cascade de-aerator 6 through a pipe 5 with valve 4 controlled by a float 3 in the collecting reservoir 7 of the de-aerator, a pipe 10, fitted with valve 11 to control the return flow of water to the storage tank, is connected between the pipe 5 on the discharge side of the valve 4 and the said tank. The water from the reservoir 7 is fed to the boiler by a second pump 8 which may, if necessary, draw water direct from the tank 1 through a pipe with check valve 9.
