Abstract
578,678. Hooks. CARNEGIE-ILLINOIS STEEL CORPORATION. March 14 ,1944, No. 4739. Convention date, Aug. 18, 1943. [Class 89 (ii)] Hooks for use with apertured articles such as tin anodes used in continuous plating baths have the lower side of the hook 7 extending, at an angle to the horizontal equal to the angle a of taper of the hole in the cast anode, across the axial vertical centre of the hook. A sleeve 10, sliding on the shank 2 between collars 11, 12 under the control of a handle 13 has a plate 8 notched at 9 to engage and retain the anode A in position during placing on or removal from the bridge D of the plating bath. The suspension hook or eye is preferably insulated at 5.
