[Class 12 (i)] A double taper (base to base) solid collar a on a shaft b engages a correspondingly shaped sleeve c which is divided, in a plane perpendicular to the axis, at the position of maximum diameter of the collar with the sleeve parts d, e held in position in the bearing housing f by a retaining plate g clamped down by a cover plate h; lubricant supplied to the housing f through an aperture j passes by axial and annular grooves k, m on the outer periphery' of the sleeve to radial ducts i opening on to the bearing 'surface. The housing f is formed with a flange whereby it can be supported in position.
