[Classes 64 (iii) and 123 (ii)] An air heater comprising a hollow elongated metal box a with internal baffles b is connected at one end to a pipe c with a valve g admitting air from a fan or air pump h. The pipe c has a branch pipe e with a tap f for admitting water, which is immediately vaporized on dripping into the box, which may be built in or fitted to a fireplace. Heated gas leaves the box. by a pipe d and is used for heating a room or for central heating. Air may be thus sterilized, or a mixture of air and steam used for central heating.
