Abstract
405,178. Heating water. RUSSELL, W., 2, Steel's Cross, Lanark. June 15, 1933, No. 17064. [Class 64 (i).] Water in a pipeline for glass houses &c. is heated and circulated by injection of steam through a nozzle 12 with an externally operated control valve 13, the nozzle being surrounded by a chamber 11 with holes 11a by which water is entrained from a pipeline (not shown) and ejected with condensed steam through a long tube 16 on the chamber into the pipeline. Steam is supplied through pipes 8, 10 housing the steam valve handle 14. The walls of the chamber are of grid formation. The pipe 10 may be mounted on a removable cover on a U-shaped return bend or a right-angle bend in the pipeline. An air outlet is provided.
